La Lanterna is one of the most popular and well established Italian restaurants in the East End and is a firm favourite with both the locals and those coming to to sample some of the best Italian food in London, where fine Italian cuisine, quality, fresh ingredients, service and ambience meet.
The great atmosphere is only surpassed by the food which is excellent, and the staff are superb.
Very generous portions too, the garlic pizza starter is only for the VERY hungry, or to share - huge! - as are most of the portions. The specials are most definitely to be sampled on a regular basis and often feature fish as is the forte of the restaurant. Linguine La Lanterna is a must for seafood lovers and great value for money. Try the Bruscetta San Danielle for a starter. Delicious! Puddings are to die for - especially the tiramisu and profiteroles and the wine list boasts over thirty carefully chosen wines.
